I'm back!!

Hi All,

I'm back after a bit of a break. I've had a lot on the last couple of days. My Grandma and Grandad came to visit which was heaps of fun. The only bad thing was that I didn't poop the whole time they were here!! They must think that I don't know how. BUT I DO. The day that they left I pooped about 5 times (must have had something to do with the prune juice that I saw mum sneaking into my breakfast). Here's some pictures of me and Grandma and Grandad:

Mum finally got permission from dad to cut my hair so today she cut my hair. Here's the a photo of all the hair she cut off:

I'll have to get mum to take a better photo tomorrow but here's me after my haircut:

See you again tomorrow!

Cricket

Hi All,

I've just been chillin' today, watching a bit of cricket.

I'm really getting the hang of this moving around thing! I'm commando crawling EVERYWHERE! I can scoot around to get things that I want (which are usually not the books or toys mum puts out for me but the power cord or coffee table or lamp base). Already I've banged my head a couple of times but I didn't cry or anything.

I'm on 3 meals a day now. I get some baby cereal for breakfast, some vegetables for lunch (avocado at the moment, yuck) and rice cereal and fruit for dinner. Fruit is definitely my favourite.

A concerning thing has been happening lately. I'll be busy playing with something very important to me, something that I've grown very attached to or something which makes me feel safe and secure then mum or dad come and take it away. They leave me with no choice but to go red and scream. It doesn't matter that I may have only had the item for 5 seconds or that in another 5 seconds I'll have forgotten that it ever existed. It doesn't matter that they may have taken it away because they needed to move me or feed me dinner or something else. All that matters is that I had it and they took it away so I let them know that I'm not happy by screaming. Unfortunately they usually laugh when I do this. I may have to come up with a new strategy. I'll let you know how I go.

Bye for now,

Busy times

Hi All,

I had a very busy day yesterday (sorry about not blogging). I went out shopping with mum in the morning. Then in the afternoon mum and dad took me to the pool. We had so much fun. I'm such a good kicker!! I went in the baby pool and even when the big boys ran past and kicked water in my face I was still happy. Another little boy (I think he might have been about 2) kept getting closer and closer to me, splashing little bits. His dad kept saying sternly, "Watch the little bub" so the little boy came over and "watched" me. It was very funny.

Then last night after my bath and food instead of being put to bed, mum and dad took me on an outing with Steve and Phoebe. We went to the Queen Vic Night market. Oh my goodness - it was very loud and very noisy and just very... Dad had me in the hugabub which was a good thing because I think the pram would have been swallowed up and eaten by the huge crowds of people. This way I was safe with dad. I was very happy and just chatted to myself a lot of the time. I did get very tired and upset on the way home and I started crying about 2 minutes from home (if I'd known we were only 2 minutes away I might not have cried but my seat faces backwards - I didn't know where we were!). So I stayed up WAY past my bedtime. I'm probably going to be grouchy today. Oh well.

Mesh dummy

Hi All,

I don't know if you know but I've never had a dummy. Mum and dad didn't really want me to have one and it turns out I never cried that much so it was never a big problem. But today mum gave me a funny looking dummy thing. You can put fruit or vegetable in the little mesh bag and then I can suck on it. Mum put some rockmelon into it today and it was good. I got to suck all the juices out. yummm...

Today my dad read me a story. It was a pretty good story. I think he needs to practise doing different voices and stuff though to make it more interesting...

See you tomorrow,

Beans

Hi All,
I tried beans for the first time today. Please see photos below for what I think of them:

Not good... Not good, at all.
So apart from my mum trying to feed me disgusting green snotty beans things are going pretty good. For the last 2 weeks I've slept from 7pm to 7am. I had breakfast for the first time this morning (porridge and apple) and let's just say my poo has changed quite a bit (alright, I'll say more - does "laying a log" mean anything to you??).
So life is good.
'Til next time,

Aunty Leanne and Uncle Tim

Hi All,

I'm very sorry for not blogging yesterday but Aunty Leanne and Uncle Tim were looking after me and they didn't know that I was allowed time on the computer to do my blog. Anyway...

Mum and Dad went to a wedding last night. It was the first time that they have left me for someone else to bath, give me a bottle, give me food and put me to sleep. Mum was a bit stressed out about it in case I got upset. I don't know why she was nervous - I'm awesome. I was such a good boy for Aunty Leanne and Uncle Tim (he he he - they might think that all babies are good like me!!). I ate my food and drank my milk and then went to bed with hardly a peep.

Also, you might like to know that I had apple for the first time yesterday and it was good.

I am moving around heaps as well. Mum keeps putting things just out of reach and if I want it I'll pull myself over to get it (this game gets very annoying after a while but mum seems to enjoy it so I'll play a long for a bit).

That's all for now,

Banana

Hi All,

I had a fun day today. Mum and I went to her work and I showed off how cute and big and amazing I am.

I had banana for the second time today. I LOVE IT. I ate 1 whole banana myself. It was SO good.

Mum got jealous of the nice photos with dad yesterday so dad took a photo of me and her. Here it is:

Cool dad

Hi All,

I thought I would post some pics of me and my dad. My dad is a lot older than me. He is also a lot bigger and a lot hairier. He is very strong.

I like him a lot.

Trying very hard to crawl

Hi All,
I am trying very hard to crawl. I'm doing a bit of commando crawling (on my belly) but I'm getting really close to getting my legs and arms to work at the same time. It's really hard though. So hard, that it makes me pull some funny faces (see below):

If you think that's bad, you should see my face when I poo!!
My dad came home!!! I've got some great photos of me and him but you'll have to come back tomorrow to see them.

Visitors!

Hi All,

Today I had some very special visitors. Bettina, Matthew and Emma came to visit. Emma is a baby like me but a little bit older. We had a nice time playing. To tell you the truth, I think Emma may have been hitting on me (see what you think from the photo below):

I've told her that we should just be friends for the moment. She was a bit upset but we've talked it through and it's all good.

Mum and I also went to the community centre to learn about eating proper food. It was very interesting and it sounds like mum's done her research because she seems to be doing what she's supposed to. I saw 2 of my buddies from mum's group there.
AND we also went to a party tonight. We saw heaps of people and I got to stay up way post my bed time. So I had better go get some sleep now otherwise I'm going to be cranky tomorrow.

wee

Hi All,

Dad's gone to Sydney so it's just me and mum. So far she's doing a pretty good job.

I've got a cool trick that I'm playing at the moment. When mum is feeding me I do a wee and it goes all over her pants. She's very confused because I'm wearing a nappy at the time and she can't figure out why it's coming out. I did it twice today!

I'm talking a lot. Mainly I say "gagagagagaga" but I'm mixing it up with a bit of "dadadadadada".

Good times,
Roman

Sweet Potato

Hi All,

Sweet Potato has been my latest food adventure and I LOVE IT. It's way better than stupid stinking carrot. So far my favourites are sweet potato and pear (not together). I'm not so fond of farax or carrot. An interesting fact about sweet potato is that it comes out looking exactly the same as when it goes in. I snuck a peek at my nappy and it looked like mum had smeared sweet potato all over it. Fascinating.

I had a late night last night because we went out to celebrate Papa's birthday. I was supposed to go to sleep in the pram but I wanted to be with everyone else so I didn't go to sleep until we got home. I've been a bit grumpy today. I got VERY upset this afternoon. Mum and dad tried everything to get me to stop crying but I was too upset (I can't remember why I was upset anymore but I'm sure it was very important). I even had real tears. Mum put the hugabub on and popped me in it and I forgot all my troubles. She says that the hugabub was worth every cent! Here's a photo of me. If you click the photo you'll even get to see my tear.

'til tomorrow,

Very exciting day

Hi All,

I had a terribly exciting day today.

So exciting that I'm really too tired to talk about it.

I'll just say Carlton, cakes, Thai, birthday, relatives and "dada."

I am not a doll

Hi All,

There seems to have been some confusion of late. I may not talk much, I may need some assistance in getting dressed, I may need to be spoon fed BUT that does not mean that you should take advantage of my helplessness. So suffice to say, Papa's shaving cream does not belong on my nose.

Also, thank you for your prayers and thoughts regarding my poo situation. Your prayers have been answered.

2nd cousins and Grandparents

I FELL ASLEEP!!!

Not only did I not manage to stay awake until Grammy and Papa arrived last night, I didn't wake up until 7am this morning. My Grammy came and woke me up which was a nice surprise.

It's been a pretty hot day (did you know that I don't like hot weather??) but I've coped pretty well.

Cousin Fiona (SD) visited today and we had fun together. She makes some pretty funny faces and noises (I just smile and laugh to keep her happy). Here's some pictures of our time together:

I'll have to post more tomorrow (I'm too busy today spending time with my Grammy and Papa).

But so you don't get sad here's another picture of me (I seem to always have carrot on my face lately). Also you should probably know that since starting solids I've been a bit backed up (in the poo department if you know what I mean). I'm due for a really big one soon so if you give me a cuddle in the next couple of days don't wear your best clothes.

My friend, Hudson

Hi All,

I went and visited baby Hudson today. He's only 3 weeks old. He's very tiny. Mum felt all nervous and clumsy holding him. Mum and dad couldn't believe that I was that tiny only 4 months ago! I'm huge now (must be all the pear and carrot).

My Grammy and Papa are coming tonight to stay for a couple of days. They are going to get in pretty late but I'm going to secretly see if I can stay awake for them. My eyes are getting pretty heavy though and my cot is very comfy and I'm getting pretty tired so I might just rest my eyes for a couple of minutes...

New foods

Hi All,

I know that most of posts revolve around food lately and that most of my photos are of me in my high chair but this new food thing is really consuming most of my time and thinking (I've cropped the below photo so you can't really tell that I'm in my high chair even though I really am and you know anyway because I've told you).

Today I tried pureed pear. It wasn't too bad.
I haven't been updating you on my sleeping habits lately so here's a quick run down. Apart from 2 days at Christmas I've been waking up once during the night for the past month of so. However the last 2 nights I've slept the whole night!! My belly must be pretty full from all my food.

Books galore!!

Hi All,

Mum wanted to get me some board books because apparently putting paper ones in my mouth makes the pages all soggy. She had a look at the shops and board books are about $15 each. She thought to herself, "Self, you can do better than that." So she went onto ebay and bought some books for me. I think she did quite well. See below for the result:

She bought 4 lots of 10 books (that's 40 in case you are not very good at maths) for $33. And the lady she bought them from lives about 10 minutes away so we got to pick them up and not pay any postage. She's been walking around all day looking pretty chuffed with herself.

Here is a picture of me not looking so chuffed (the picture should explain why I don't look chuffed):

That orange stuff around my mouth is those carrot icecubes that mum made the other day. They were for me!!! I'm still not sure about carrot. It might take some getting used to. Did you know that if your mum gives you milk after you've had carrot and then you sick up some of your milk it comes out orange. True story.

dinner table

Hi All,

Just a quick one tonight because I am really supposed to be sleeping.

I got to eat at the dinner table tonight with mum and dad. I sat in my high chair and they sat in their regular big people chairs. We ate different food (I'm starting to wonder what's wrong with my food - surely if it was any good they would be eating it too). Anyway it was fun sitting up with them. They sure do make a big deal over me eating my food. They clap and cheer all the time. You'd think I'd just invented something important.

Come and see me again tomorrow. I might have something more interesting to tell you (but maybe not).

Bye for now,

carrot

Hi All,

Today is hot again. Yuck.

This morning mum was messing about in the kitchen making lots of noise and mess. My dad looked after me while she was doing this. When she was finished she was grinning like a Cheshire cat and looking quite proud of herself. Well, I snuck a look at what she'd been up to and this is what I found:

My crazy mum had boiled up carrots, then pureed them, then put them in icecube trays and then put them in the freezer. I wouldn't want to be the person who gets carrot ice in their coke.

Not so bad after all

Hi All,

That's right... An empty food bowl. I ate all of my lunch today!!! The whole bowl full. It turns out mum just wasn't doing it right because today dad fed me and I gobbled it up. I even opened my mouth up when he put the spoon near. I don't know why but it just tastes better when dad feeds me (although mum still wins out with the milk).

'til tomorrow,
Roman

Pinching

Hi All,

I'm tired and really want to go to bed but I thought I would tell you that I had a lovely day today. My baby friends from Mother's Group came around to play today. They all had a good Christmas but we were all glad to catch up with each other again.

Here's my latest trick - when mum is giving me my milk I squeeze the skin on the back of her arm and it makes her yelp. Very funny.

Anyway...

Again!!!

Hi All,

It happened again!!!

Mum tried to make me eat goop again. She just kept putting more and more in. Don't worry though - I'm pretty sure I spat it all out (and whatever I didn't spit up I puked back up later). Maybe soon she'll get the message that I don't like it.

Anyway... My latest trick is blowing raspberries. All the time. I even blow raspberries when I'm drinking my milk (which results in me not blowing very good raspberries and me not getting any milk).

One of my Christmas presents was LP (learning puppy). Here's me trying to eat his ear (see mum, I'll eat - you just need to feed me the right things):

Solid Food

Hi All,

Something was clearly wrong this morning. Mum and dad seemed like they were looking forward to something. Something new and different. I didn't realise that I was to be a part of this new and exciting adventure. But at 11am mum cut my feed short. Just pulled me off when I wasn't even finished! Then she took me over to my new high chair and strapped me in. She was all nervous and excited (to be honest, it made me nervous just watching her). Then she went into the kitchen and starting mixing things up in a little bowl while dad got the camera ready. Oh my goodness, the nervous energy was palpable! Whatever was going on I'm not sure I wanted to be a part of it.

Then she came over with a little bowl and spoon and sat down in front of me. Then she put the spoon in my mouth with this yucky stuff that looked like concrete.

It did not taste good!!! I rolled it around my mouth a couple of times and then tried to spit it out but she kept on shoving it back in again. I was very brave - I did not cry or anything (but I wasn't impressed). After a couple of mouthfuls mum finally came up with a good idea and she gave me the spoon:

I put it in my mouth and had a good chew (in retrospect I realise that this is exactly what she wanted me to do... I should have chucked it on the floor or thrown it against the wall. Maybe next time...).

It got a bit difficult when I tried to put both the spoon and my hand in my mouth...

Oh well, I'm sure I won't have to do that ever again.

Bye for now,
Roman
