Ducks

Hi All,

Mum and I discovered that just a short walk from home there is a big pond with ducks in it (by discovered I mean that someone told us they were there and then we went and "discovered" them). The first couple of times we went there were only 2 ducks but last time they magically turned into 7. There was one mean duck that kept chasing the others but that did mean that I got to see ducks flying and landing and running and all sorts of fun duck things.

Hi All,

I'm feeling much better now. I'm not even grumpy anymore.

Mum took this photo of me - she reckons I look like the statue of liberty! (I reckon it looks like me with some foam squares around me).



Mum started work again today. She's working from home. I'm doing my best to remind her that she's got more important things to do (like play with me!).

EECK!!

Hi All,

Well it turns out I'm grumpy because I'm sick.

Dad noticed when I was having a bath the other day that I had a rash on my legs. It was still there a day later so mum took me to the doctor. He said that I have Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. The doctor told mum that it was a virus or a bug. I figure that I must have stepped on the bug (that's how my foot got it), then I must have been playing with my feet with my hand (that's how my hand got it), then I must have put my hand in my mouth (that's how my mouth got it). I also have it on my bottom though so I'm not sure how it got there...

I've been a very brave boy. I don't get to see any of my friends for a little while though in case I give it to them.

Very Grumpy

Hello,

I am grumpy today. Very grumpy.

I think it's because my gums hurt. Or maybe because I didn't sleep very well last night. Or maybe I didn't sleep very well last night because my gums hurt. Whatever the reason, I'm grumpy. And I did not eat my lunch so I think I'm going to be hungry later. Hungry and grumpy

Musical Instruments

Hi All,

Mum bought me some wooden musical instruments. They are lots of fun. She bought me some maraccas, some castanets, some clackers and a flute. My dad tries to show me how to play the flute. I can't quite work it out so instead I just put it to my mouth and hum. I wonder if they're on to me.

Found him!

Hi All,

I found my dad!! I've had to keep a pretty close watch on him since then so I haven't been able to blog so much. Here's a photo of us:

If you click on the photo and look closely you might even be able to see my tooth!

Mum and dad were making lots of noise in my bedroom and when I went to investigate they'd moved everything around! My bed is not in it's proper place and everything is different. I don't know how I'm going to be able to get to sleep tonight.

New things

Hi All,

I haven't seen my dad for 2 days. I miss him. Mum says that I can see him tomorrow. I'm not sure where he has been hiding (but I know that he wasn't behind the couch because I checked there).

I now have a tooth. It's in my bottom gum. I think it's going to have a mate beside it pretty soon. Before I go to bed at night mum brushes it. I think that's funny.

I have graduated. Graduated from the baby trolley to the big boy's trolley. Now, instead of going in the baby capsule I get to just go in the front of the normal trolleys. I feel very grown up.

Bath time

Hi All,

As you should know by now I love my bath. Well, it seems I just keep loving it more and more! Now when dad starts running my bath I get so excited I just stand in the bathroom, holding on to the bath and just scream. I'm not mad or anything, just super excited. I get to get naked and splash around. What's better than that??

Dad did however put me in the bath today with my socks on. That felt funny.

Kisses

Hi All,

I'm learning something new at the moment but I'm pretty sure that I have not perfected it...

It's kissing.

My mum and dad give me kisses on my cheeks and they feel quite nice so I thought I might give some back. I've been practising a lot on mum because she has nice soft cheeks (dad's cheeks prickle a little bit) but when I kiss mum she says things like "ICK!!! so wet and slimy!! No, not with your mouth wide open!!!" I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I don't think she likes them very much. I'll just have to keep practising.

Boo boos and Aliens

Hi All,

Well, I've been in the wars lately. For some reason I keep falling over. Aunty Leanne came to visit and I was showing her how I can stand up while holding on to things but then the big orange cat was outside the window and I was trying to watch him as well and the next thing I know I'm on the floor with a great big egg on my head. Can see the blue bruise in this picture? (it's a bit fuzzy but it's on the right hand side of my face up near my hair)

Also, please don't be too worried but I think I've got aliens in my head. I'm pretty sure that they are living in my gums and are trying to escape. They hurt a bit and they have made me wake up a couple of times during the night but so far none have made it out.

I'm back from Holidays

I'm back from my holidays in Adelaide. I had a really lovely time. I went out for tea with Grammy and Papa (mum and dad came too), Grammy took me for lots of walks, I went to the pool with Grammy and mum and dad and lots of other stuff.

Hi All,

Well, I've safely arrived in Adelaide. The plane ride wasn't too bad. There were about 5 other babies on the plane. Mum gave me a biscuit when we were taking off and when we were landing so I didn't cry except when I banged my head on the seat in front (but anyone would have cried at that!).

It's been lots of fun so far. I've seen my Grammy and my Papa. We've been shopping. Grammy organised a cot and a high chair and a pram and toys and lots of other things so I've had everything I need.

I don't know what we're doing tomorrow but I'm sure it will be fun.

A bit mixed up

Hi All,

We're off on holidays today!!! We're going to Adelaide to see my Grammy and Papa. I'm sure they are very excited (I'm a little bit excited too!). I'm going to be flying on a plane. I hope the people sitting around me don't get too worried if I get scared. I've heard that flying can be scary.

Last night I had a bit of trouble falling asleep (probably because I was so excited about our holiday). I cried so mum gave me a bit more milk. Then put me back to bed. I did a bit more crying but eventually fell asleep. Mum's been telling dad how sometimes I go to sleep on my tummy (even though mum and dad wrap me up nice and tight on my back) but dad's never seen it. So this morning, while mum was in the shower, he crept into my room and there I was, on my tummy, facing the wrong way (see the photo below - my blankets are nice and warm up the OTHER end of the bed). I didn't have my sleeping bag on because mum had it out ready to be packed for holidays so my feet were like little icicles.

I'm very cute when I sleep!

If Papa lets me use his computer I might even let you know how my holiday is going.

New Toy

Hi All,

Mum bought me a new toy the other day. It's a big cube. On one side it's got a xylophone, on another side it's got an abacus, on one side it's got a magnetic white board, something else on another side and on the top it's got an animal maze (I used a lot of big words in that sentence that you may have been surprised to find that an eight month old boy knows but I'm very clever). I really like the top because I can climb up and play with it (just like in the photo below).



I still have my cold. For some reason mum keeps attacking me with little white pieces of paper. She keeps rubbing them under my nose. I really don't like it (so if you speak to her could you please ask her to stop it).

Gotta go - it's time for my bath.

Hi All,

Well, I'm back from Bairnsdale. Do you know what I brought back with me? A cold. I didn't want to be greedy so I've shared it with my mum. So we're both being misery guts together.

I had a lovely time in Bairnsdale though. Here's some pictures:

I did lots of things in Bairnsdale. I tried to play with the cats, I looked at a horse that Grandma and Grandad keep in their backyard and I gatecrashed a wedding (don't worry Uncle Tim gatecrashed worse than me - he went and stood all the way up the front).

I have to go and be miserable now.

Don't close your eyes for too long!

Hi All,

On Thursday mum and I went out for a drive. I thought maybe we were going shopping, or to visit some friends or maybe even to the pool. I shut my eyes for a quick nap and when I woke up, do you know where I was? Bairnsdale!!! Mum had driven for 3 hours and apparently I had slept for just about that long.

So it turns out that mum and I are having a weekend in Bairnsdale with Grandma and Grandad.

It's been lots of fun so far. I've got to see lots of my favourite people.

Do you want to hear something funny? Do you wwant to know how my Grandma checks to see whether I have a dirty nappy? She sticks her finger down my pants!!! If it comes up clean, alls good. Otherwise she knows I need a nappy change. I think this is a very dangerous system and after 4 kids I would think she should know better. Anyway, I plan on having a lot of fun with it...

Sometimes I get grumpy very quickly...

Sometimes my mood can change very quickly. For example when I'm eating I can be calm one moment, then cross the next. Play the video below to see more:

It's hardly surprising that my mood can change so quickly. Everything is very difficult at my age. Take apples. Apples are very frustrating... It's very difficult to bite an apple without those funny white things in my mouth (mum needs to buy me some of them). And they're round. That makes them difficult to hang on to. It's been a bit cold lately. Dad was worried that mum was not dressing me warm enough so he got out my big jacket and put it on me.

I was definitely warmer with it on. I wonder whether he saw the irony later on when he shared his dessert with me:

Snugglepot

Hi All,

Daddy dressed me up in his beanie today. Then he said I looked like snugglepot. Personally I think I'm a lot cuter but whatever...

Everyone's been sick in our house. Mum's been sick. She was lying in the bed trying to rest a little bit while I crawled around the bedroom. I tried to make her feel better by climbing up the end of the bed and playing peek-a-boo. I think it made her feel a bit better then I got bored so I started being cranky. I forgot that I was supposed to be being a good boy. I'm sure she'll forgive me. Daddy's been sick too. Although I think his sickness gives him more energy because he keeps running to the toilet. I've been a bit out of sorts today as well. My feeling a bit poorly was confirmed when mum changed my nappy before putting me to bed...

Stuck!

Hi All,

Because of my amazing abilities in the climbing and standing departments I sometimes get myself into spots of bother.

Here I have climbed up the base of my high chair. Only problem is I don't know how to get down again:

Here is what happened after I tried climbing up the bookcase (unfortunately I was stronger than the book I was holding onto because it fell out with me!). I got cuddles with daddy so it wasn't al bad!

I've got to go now. I see something I want to climb up.
