Christmas

Hi All,

Well, a week ago, I flew on a airplane for the 3rd time in my life. I tapped the lady next to mum with my foot a couple of times but she said it was OK because she was going to stay with someone that had a 2 year old. So I decided that by kicking her I was really helping her prepare for what lay ahead.

When we landed I got to see my Grammy. Then later that day I saw my Papa too! (I think they live together).

We've done lots of lovely things while we've been here. We went to the beach - I went into the water and then played on the sand. I had some ice cream (mummy says I shouldn't have ice cream because afterwards my poo is yucky, sticky and black - I reckon it's worth it). I got to spend time with my Aunty Tanya and Uncle Cliff. We went out for dinner last night and I got more ice cream (mum was not happy when she changed my nappy this morning).

I got lots of presents including a ride on scooter with a trailer. I can go backwards really well but I get stuck going forwards. We went to church on Christmas morning but I got a bit fidgety so dad took me out the back of church. I had a lovely time out the back running around. Mum said she could still hear me in the church - whoops.

I am having lots of fun.

Beach

Hi all,

Today we went to the beach. The water was very cold so I didn't really want to stay in very long. I liked the sand very much. I climbed into a big hole that a boy was digging. Then I climbed out again. I borrowed his shovel for a bit. Next time we go to the beach I'm going to bring my own shovel and bucket. I'm getting a bucket and shovel for Christmas - I know this because I found the shovel and unwrapped it...

I also got some other Christmas presents today because tomorrow I'm going to Adelaide on an airplane and my presents won't fit in the suitcase.

I got lots of Little People things from mum and dad. We picked them up after we went to the beach. I love them a lot because they make lots of noises.

I have to go to bed now because I need my rest before getting on the plane tomorrow.

Bye for now

Better then worse

Hi All,

I haven't posted since last week because I got all better so I was happy and wanted to do things. My ears didn't hurt and my eyes were all clear. But my eyes got sick again...

Here's me today.

Boo.

But people must be feeling sorry for me because I've been getting presents!!! They are wrapped in red and green paper with gold bows.

I LOVE the present my Aunty Leanne and Uncle Tim gave me. My mum says when I opened it up I made the biggest smiles she's EVER seen. It's pretty much the best present any one could ever get and I know you're all going to be jealous and wish you had one. Here it is:

A BROOM!!!! How cool is that?? I love sweeping so much!! Although I'm not sure why it's pink. Surely there are blue brooms. Blue brooms for boys. Boys that love sweeping. Daddy says that I'm going to be a janitor when I grow up.

Left Out

Hi All,

Apparently my left eye was jealous of all the attention my right eye was getting so my right eye shared its conjunctivits with my left eye.

goop

Hi All,

As you might know I have been a sick boy lately. Although I woke up feeling better this morning things took a turn for the worse during my lunch time nap when someone snuck into my bedroom and put glue in my eye. When I woke up my eye was glued shut with green goop.

Mum took me off to the doctor AGAIN and he told mum that I have conjunctivitis (I tried to tell him about my glue theory but I don't think he understood me).

So now mum and dad have to tackle me to the ground, prise my eye open so they can shoot drops into my eyes every 2 - 3 hours. If they miss we get to do it all over again.
Such fun,

: (

Hello,
Today I wanted to tell you something exciting. Like how I love playing the piano:

OR

how this morning mum was really excited to find a nice firm poo in my pants rather than the diarrhoea that I've had for the last week,

OR

how I was going to be a lovely boy for mum today because it was her birthday.
Instead... I have to tell you that I've been a sick boy today.
I woke up not feeling bad but by 8:20am I was miserable. I cried and cried. So mum suggested that we all (Dad was home for mum's birthday) go shopping because shopping always makes me happy. I cried for the whole 10 minutes that we were at Doncaster so we came home again (crying all the way). I pretty much cried until I went to bed at 12pm.

When I got up at 1:30pm I felt REALLY bad. I had a bad temperature and felt terrible. I just wanted to hug my mum so that's all I did for the whole afternoon (even when we went to the doctor). The doctor said that I now have an ear infection to go with my chest infection as well as my high temperature.
Here's me being miserable:

This was the favourite part of my day:

So today I did 2 things I never do - I cried for half the day and I sat on mum's lap for half a day.
It's a good thing mum gets another birthday next year because I think this one probably wasn't great...

Finally

Hi All,

I thought you might be interested to know that after weeks of feeling cross and grumpy and completely snotty, I finally am feeling much better! The last three days I have been a happy and joyful and only a little bit snotty boy.

Today I went outside a lot.

I like summer fruits - cherries and apricots and peaches. I don't think my mum is at all happy about this. My dad told me that she doesn't like sharing.

Mum told me that I'm going to be flying on a plane soon to see my Grammy and Papa. I'm very excited about this. I've been on a plane before so I know that there are lots of people. I also am pretty sure that those people love it when little children make lots of noise so I'll see what I can do. I have a game that I like playing at the moment. I stand on the couch. Mum or Dad count to 3. At 3 I fall backwards onto the cushions. It's great fun. I was playing today. Unfortunately I had a little bit of snot coming out of my nose at the time. This is what I looked like after I had fallen backwards. Click on the photo to get a good look...

Dog

Hi All,

My friend Phoebe came over last night while I was sleeping and she left a present for me. It's a dog! Mum said I can keep him because he won't poop on the couch or wee on the carpet. He makes a good pillow too.

My new favourite fruit is apricot. Mum bought a bag of about 15 two days ago and they are all gone!! I think mum is upset because I'm not sure she bought them for me but every time we walk past the fruit bowl, I point until she gives me one.

That's all for now,

More snot

Hi All,

I know I haven't posted for a while but I've been sick. So sick that mum said I couldn't use the computer because I'd get snot all over the keyboard and then it wouldn't work properly.

Dad's been away for the last week. First he was in Kong Hong and then in Sydney. I know that I'm only little but already I'm learning things - I worked out that Kong Hong is a monarchy and that they named the King after the country and that he is an ape.

I haven't been eating my food very much lately because I don't feel like it. I think this stresses mum out. She even gave me my yoghurt and a spoon and let me do it myself. I found the spoon slow going so I used my hands (to be honest I think the spoon might have been the better option).

Gloss

Hi there,

As you know I've had a cold lately (so do my mum and dad). People always say that if you're feeling lousy you'll feel better if you do your hair and put on a bit of lippie. I'm not sure which people say this but I thought I would give it a go. I couldn't find any lipstick but I did find some lipgloss. Now before you get worried (I do know that I'm a boy), I decided that putting it near my lips should be enough.

I'm not sure I felt better afterwards but mum and dad thought it was pretty funny and they seemed to perk up a bit.

Mood swings

Hi All,

I still have my cold. My snot is not so green but I'm still grumpy. I try and be happy but it's not easy when I feel yuckky.

I'm sad about my cold because my Grammy and Papa have been visiting and I wanted to show them what a happy, good natured boy I am but all I really showed them was that I can produce a lot of green snot.

They have gone home now but here's a photo of Grammy and me.

(don't worry - I'm not really upside down - I'm just lying down on the carpet the other way to Grammy).

Wheelbarrow rides!

Hi All,

I suggest you immediately go and ask your dad to put you in the wheelbarrow and wheel you around the back yard. It's very cool fun.

Why are you still reading? - you should be in your wheelbarrow. If your dad can't push you round, just sit in it - that should still be fun.

Bye for now.

The following photo may offend...

Hi All,

I'm not feeling so good.

I have a sore throat, a lot of snot and just all-over-unwellness.

Click on the photo below to see what I looked like when I got up this morning. You may not notice (because you may just be thinking about how good looking I am) but I have a lot of snot under my nose.

Dried, green, caked on, 'been there all night' snot. Not good.

I don't like having a runny nose because I don't sleep so well and also mum insists on wiping it away which I HATE. It's not on her face so I don't know why she's so bothered.

Anyway, I'm hoping for a better sleep tonight.

Bye for now,

Outside

Hi All,

I've probably told you before but I love outside. Here's a song I made up about outside:

I love outside a lot
I love outside a lot
I love outside a very lot
I love outside a lot.

It's not a very good song but with some good music it might be ok...

Bread and Bath water

Hi All,

Does anyone else like drinking their bath water? I do. A LOT. I get my bath in the laundry tub (for so many reasons but I don't have time to go into them now) so I do have to bend almost double to drink it but it's so good. The trick is to drink it as soon as you get in otherwise you might add more nutrients to it as the bath goes on (if you know what I mean).

I also like bread a lot.

I've been spending a lot of time outside lately because it's been warm weather. I also like this a lot.

What's going on??

Hi All,

Guess what? I found a new activity which I really enjoy. I go to the room with the toilet. Open the toilet lid. Try and play with the water down the bottom. It's great fun. Splishing and splashing. For some reason mum doesn't seem to like me doing this.

Anyway, I go to do this yesterday and I can't get the lid up. I push and I pull. Nothing. I try and squeeze my fingers under the lid and pry it up. Nope - just get my fingers stuck. So I go to the other toilet and try it there. SAME THING!!! It's stuck down. Then I see this contraption on it that mum and dad must have put on to stop me. It looks pretty sophisticated

I was pretty annoyed that mum and dad stopped my fun. But I got over it pretty quickly because I found a new game.

I unravel the whole roll of toilet paper. Let's see what they come up with to stop me doing that!!

Lovely Weekend

Hi All,

I've had such a lovely weekend!!

Mum and Dad and me went to the zoo. We saw heaps of animals - I liked the monkeys. Although now I'm a bit confused because my mum and dad call me monkey and I'm pretty sure my bottom doesn't like theirs.

I've been out in the backyard lots because mum and dad have been out in the backyard lots. I've had 2 falls out there. I have a pretty black bruise on my cheek from one of the falls but outside still makes me happy. Sometimes I eat the bread that dad has put out for the magpies. Sometimes the bread has already been there for a day and tastes more like toast than bread.

When I go outside mum and dad put my shoes on. They feel funny and I'm not so good at walking with them on but I can still do it.

grrrr

Hi All,

My Dad asked me why I haven't blogged lately and I didn't have any good reason so I thought I better get back on it.

A lot has happened - my Grandma came and stayed with us. I went to a friends birthday party. I ate dog poo. I got another cold.

I like climbing into my tonka truck and just sitting there.

It's lots of fun but getting out is a lot harder than getting in.

Bye for now,

PS. dog poo does not taste good.

Things

Hi All,
Today I had a friend come visit. We had a lovely time.

Also I've been doing a spot of redecorating. I straightened this photo:

Moved this VERY heavy ball:

And... well I got bored after that so that's it.

New Me

Hi All,

Mum and Dad thought it was time for a haircut because I keep putting my food in my hair (which gets pretty messy). Here's how it went.

Oh Dear

Hi All,

It seems that my nappy has had a malfunction:

Oh, wait a second. That's just my sultanas...

I had a lovely afternoon in the garden today. My nose is still a bit snotty and when you mix that with dirt you get this:

Oh well.

Clarification

Hi all,

Please read the previous post before reading this one.

Daddy just read my blog and I think he's a bit worried that people will think he's bad so he asked me if I could tell you something bad about my mummy.

On Friday night mum and I were sitting on the couch together after I'd had my cup of milk. I was crawling back and forward over her having lots of fun. I lost my balance but I thought, "That's OK because mummy will catch me." Mummy however was winding down for the day and her reflexes were not at their best so she did not catch me. Instead I fell backwards and smacked my head on the ground and I'm pretty sure that some of my brains fell out. Bad mummy.

Hope that makes you feel better, daddy.

Chores

Hi All,

In my family everyone has to help out with chores. Mum said it's only fair (Dad said something else but he grumbled it under his breath so I couldn't understand him). I like helping with chores. Here's me just finishing up with putting a load of laundry on:

Here's me sweeping up the kitchen:

Sometimes once chores are finished I can have some banana smoothie:

Yummy!

Yesterday dad looked after me lots so mum could do some sewing in her sewing room. She has to close the door because otherwise I come in and try and make her sewing machine do things that she doesn't want it to do.

So after a while mum popped her head out and asked dad whether he needed a break but he said that because I was being such a good boy he was fine. So mum went back into her sewing room. After about 15 minutes I got bored, so I headed over to the back door. I pushed a little bit and it popped open. Freedom!!!

About 10 minutes later mum came out again and asked dad where I was. Dad said, "I thought he was with you." Mum said, "No!". Then she noticed that the back door was open. She popped out and couldn't see me anywhere. She very calmly started to panic because she knows that I know how to get down the stairs. She raced down the back deck and found me playing with the bird bath. at the top of the stairs.

I don't know what the fuss was about - I was having a great time. I love outside.

Adventure Boy

Hi All,
Dad's on holidays at the moment so I got to go and play in the garden while he was doing big boy stuff in the garden. I love the garden very much. Even if it does make my clothes dirty and gets dirt under my fingernails.
Here's me going on a bear hunt:

I thought I better get a stick in case I found a bear:

There's the bear!!

What fun!!
So much fun that I got so worn out that fell asleep in my high chair again!
Crazy.

Hi All,

Sometimes eating is really tiring work. All the chewing and swallowing can certainly tire a boy out.

This is the first time I have ever fallen asleep in my high chair.
I really have to go to bed now.

BOO HOO HOO

Hi All,

I'm sick : (

Mum took me to the doctor yesterday. We waited in the waiting room and I played with the toys. The doctor called my name and said I had to stop playing with the toys but that I could play with the toys in his room. We went through to his room and on his desk he had the coolest looking toys. Nice and shiny, silver toys, with little torches on them. I went to play with them but he laughed and told me that they were his toys and I had to play with the stupid plastic ones in the bucket on the floor. Someone should teach him how to share.

He told mum that I had an upper respiratory infection (I could have told her that) so she went and got me some medicine. I'm a bit miserable (that's not true - I'm all the way miserable). I keep coughing and waking myself up at night but I put myself straight back to sleep (I know the rules).

Anyway. Before dad went to work this morning mum took our photo. Although I'm a misery guts I'm still cute:

Fun things to do to mess with your mum

Hi All,

Here are a couple of fun things you can do to mess with your mum:
  • Wait until just after she's changed your nappy to do a big poo
  • Get the TV remote control, take the heating vent out of the floor and then throw the remote down the hole

  • Not eat any of the food that she's brought for you for mum's group, then go and beg off all the other mum's

She'll get frustrated but then you smile at her and she forgives you. Go and try them with your mum.

Ducks in the park

Hi All,

My Grammy is staying with us at the moment. It's been lovely having her here. I've tried to be quiet at night so I don't disturb her but last night it got too much so I yelled really loud. Unfortunately mum came in, not Grammy, so I just decided I would go back to sleep.

Mum took me to see the ducks at the park near our house. I have decided though that I do not like going to see the ducks. This is because mum will not let me swim with them. That's right. She wants me to stay in my pram or on the ground. I think this is mean. The ducks looked like they could do with a friend to swim with.

Parks day

Hi all,
Today I went to a park with my mum. It's a little park that's not very far from our house (mum carried me there because dad had the car and the pram was in the boot of the car). It was good.

But when dad came home we went to a different park in the afternoon. This park IS AMAZING. I've been there before but it's still so much fun. It's around the corner from where mum and dad used to live before I was borned. It has swings (for babies), a flying fox (definitely not for babies), a HUGE sandpit and lots of other things. I saw people that we knew and also a lot of people I didn't know (I think there are probably more people in the world that I don't know than I do know so this probably isn't surprising).

Here is a little girl who decided I wasn't having enough fun so helped me go faster:

Here is me showing off my rock hard abs to girls (very nonchalantly):

Here is me playing once I'd got sick of the girls ignoring me:

Here is me playing in the sand:

and again:

It was a very good day.
